DEPARTMENT OF TURKSOY AT "OPEN DOORS"...

On February 16, 2023, the Faculty of Oriental Studies hosted an "Open Doors Day", dedicat

 

More than 200 students from more than 10 schools, colleges and gymnasiums took part at the Open Day. Including, at the special invitation of the Department of Turksoy, students of secondary schools and gymnasiums (specialized school-lyceum No. 92 named after M. Gandhi, lyceum No. 173, school No. 133, school No. 131, school No. 177, gymnasium No. 36, secondary school named after S .Kerimbekov, college of KazNU) visited the departments, the library, research centers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and got acquainted with the educational process of our students. Schoolchildren also had the opportunity to participate in the lectures of teachers and in the classes of foreign teachers. For example, students took part in a lecture on Turkish literature by Zhenis Abeldayev. Director of the Research Center "Writing Monuments and Spiritual Heritage", Associate Professor Z. Shadkam interested schoolchildren in the possibilities and prospects of manuscript research.

The deputy for educational, methodological and educational work of the department Turksoy Zhanatayeva Kulzhan Bekenovna and associate professor Kurmanali Altynshash Arystanbekovna spoke in detail about international relations, the benefits of educational programs of the department, partner universities, educational bases and employment opportunities for graduates.

The event was opened by Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Natalya Borisovna, Deputy Dean for Scientific, Innovative Work and International Cooperation Dzhakubayeva Saltanat Toleuovna made a report on the faculty's programs for international cooperation and academic mobility. Faculty students sang songs, recited poems in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, danced national dances.

The 2nd year students of the educational program "Translation Studies" of the Department of Turksoy Tileu Aruzhan and Asan Anar spoke about cultural events and interesting student life at the department. Our students read poems by famous Turkish poets and organized a quiz about Turkish cinema. Aliaskar Zhansaya, a 3rd year student of the educational program "Foreign Philology", briefly spoke about the benefits of studying the Turkish language and about her internship under the academic mobility program at our partner university Eskisehir Osmangazi in Turkey.

At the end of the evening, school leaders and class teachers were awarded letters of Appreciation.

On behalf of the Turksoy department, we express our deep gratitude to the school principals and responsible teachers who brought the students and provided the opportunity to acquaint students with the life of our department and faculty.
