On January 16, 2024, senior lecturer of the Turksoy Department, curator-adviser Abeldaev Zhenisbek Akembekovich organized a training seminar within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goal on the topic "Psychological technologies in the work of the curator" on the topic "Psychological technologies for the prevention of suicidal behavior among students", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The lecture was given by leading psychological scientists S.K. Kudaibergenova and Z.B. Madalieva.

The lecturer explained the work with students, as suicidal offenses are increasing among students. Especially 1st year students are very prone to such actions, because they have to adapt to a new environment, and it is very difficult for them to do this. The curators-advisors were invited to conduct an awareness-raising class for students of all courses. It is worth thinking about the mental state of modern youth. Stress and crisis, depression and suicidal thoughts of today's youth are very unstable. Therefore, their actions or thoughts should be ahead of adults. This is society, family, peers and, of course, the teaching staff of the university.

The lecturer was invited to look into the work of the famous American psychotherapist Paul Quinead, where he conducted tremendous scientific and practical work on suicide among young people and his experience is becoming very popular in the work on the aversion of suicidal intentions.

During the training, the Suicide Watch Program and the QPR assistance algorithm were discussed. We have learned that according to the latest scientific data, suicidal actions are especially prone to men aged 30-54 years.

The issues of Trigger, risk factors and protection factors against suicidal actions were also discussed.

The seminar was very hot, all the curators and advisors who participated in this training seminar actively discussed all the issues proposed by the lecturers.

During the training, an excerpt from the film by the famous director Rollan Bykov "I will never come back here again" was shown, where social problems cause the suicide of a little girl.
