Upon completion of this programme it is expected that doctoral students will be able to:
ON1) Analyze modern and traditional theoretical concepts in the translation studies and Eas philology;
ON2) Conduct independent scientific research characterized by academic integrity, based on modern theories and methods of analysis;
ON3) Freely operate the cognitive-category apparatus, using the theoretical rules of the cognitive-communication translation and translation studies methodology, and oriental philology;
ON4) Systematize and interpret scientific theories and concepts of the modern directions of comparativistics in order to further apply this knowledge in the selection of theoretical positions;
ON5) Use AI and computer programs in word processing, text corpora;
ON6) Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge into the research process on Eastern philology in order to adapt and analyze modern research approaches;
ON7) Develop teaching materials for conducting classes and extra-curricular activities in literary and linguistic disciplines in higher education institutions using educational technologies and teaching methods based on their critical understanding;
ON8) Organize the research process in the field of Oriental philology, in the creation of dictionaries and linguistic corpora, leading to new results using modern information and innovative technologies with further approbation in the scientific environment;
ON9) To synthesize theoretical knowledge in the field of literary studies, linguistics and textual studies with modern methods and techniques of philological research in analytical work with fiction and media texts;
ON10) Model and develop programs to act as a translator of the national-cultural identity of the Eastern communities being studied;
ON11) Critically assess the results of own theoretical and applied research, scientific product, concepts in relation to modern achievements, paradigms and theories in the field of Oriental philology;
ON12) To be ready for proper and tolerant interaction in society, for social interaction and cooperation to solve the problems of science.

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to form the ability to produce a scientific text from the hypothesis to its completion in accordance with the requirements of discourse and text.
The discipline is aimed at composition, aspects of scientific writing, the academic format of writing; the principle of using sources; organization of information in the dissertation, compilation of pointers; author's metalinguistic skills; principles and models of academic writing.

Computational Technologies in Philology

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to form the ability to apply computer technologies in oriental philology. The course forms the ability to use the computer case of texts to create thesaurus, dictionaries of different types, texts for different purposes, etc. The course is aimed at studying: classification of corpses on different bases; parallel corpses; methods of machine translation; computer programs; complexity of creation of an oral corpus.

Linguistic Doctrines and Theory of Linguistics

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to develop the ability to critically analyse linguistic doctrines and theories of linguistics, to differentiate and apply their methods in one's own research. The course deals with generative linguistics, interpretivism, Montague's grammar, functionalism; prototype theory, language as a ‘grid of categories’, text linguistics and textology; speech act theory, problems of cognitive linguistics, and others.

The course forms the aesthetic perception and ability to reveal the content of fiction. The course is aimed at studying the principles of critical analysis of fiction, the basics of literary theory, the peculiarities of modernist and postmodernist movements, methodological trends in literary studies, the specifics of artistic thinking, the poetics of the art word.

The local and global context of Eastern literatures

- Description: The purpose of the course is to form the ability to determine the results of local and global relations of Oriental literature, the principles of interaction of literature at the national and international levels, to understand the basics of the theory of comparativism, to identify the features of relations of modern Oriental literature. The course is aimed at comparative study of literature, consideration of the tendencies of others' perception, types of transformation of products born from the relations of Oriental literature.

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to form the ability to analyse and interpret literary texts in the Oriental language using the methods of comparativism.
The course is aimed at studying the problems of comparative literature, the interrelation of literatures, relations and their typology, forms of influence and impact, genres of ‘secondary’ literature in the context of comparativism, typological convergence, similarity, identity.

Language Impact and Linguopragmatics: the Language of Mass

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to develop the ability to identify problems of linguistic pragmatics, to determine the specifics and discourse of media texts in the countries of the East. The course examines media genres, the thesaurus of newspaper text, methods of analyzing media discourse, derivational trends in lexical semantics, problems of modern terminology, ways of emergence of new concepts, emotionally expressive ways of transmitting information, textual parts of video information, the use of newspaper templates.

Existentialist imagination in contemporary Eastern literature

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to form the ability to analyse literary works in the Oriental language, characterised by the currents of modernism and postmodernism. The course is aimed at studying the peculiarities of modernism and postmodernism in modern literature, the formation of avant-garde currents in Eastern literature, the works of the founders of existentialist philosophy and literature, methods and techniques of expression of existentialist imagination in artistic works.

Macrosociolinguistic Research in Modern Linguistics

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to develop the ability to apply in research the knowledge of sociolinguistics, which studies the conditioning of linguistic phenomena and language units by social factors in Eastern society. The course deals with macrosocial linguistics, standing at the intersection of linguistics, sociology, social psychology, ethnography, etc., linguopragmatics, concepts of sociolinguistics, research methods in sociolinguistics.

- Description: The purpose of the discipline is to develop the ability to apply linguistic terms in the description of scientific works and to create a meta–dictionary (metalanguage dictionary) in Oriental and native languages, different types of dictionary of linguistic terms. The course is aimed at studying the functions of the metalanguage, types of dictionaries of linguistic terms, trends in the derivation of linguistic terminology, ways to create new terms, problems of author's terms, unification of linguistic terms.
