Upon completion of the study of the discipline, the doctoral student is able to: 1. evaluate the fundamental work of Islamic theologians and scholars from the standpoint of modern realities; 2. organize and manage the work of coordination structures and carry out representative and intermediary functions in various fields of professional activity; 3. to identify the degree and nature of the influence of religious and religious-ethical teachings on the formation and function-ing of socio-political institutions in the countries of the region of specialization; 4. work with the basic principles and methods of conducting research on Islam and in research projects. 5. evaluate the fundamental work of Islamic theologians and scholars from the standpoint of a traditional Kazakh society; 6. critically interpret the extensive source study of basic, theoretical and classical materials; 7. develop teaching materials, give lecture courses and conduct seminars on Islam; 8 to process scientific and source material, scientific articles, educational and methodological programs and work in research projects in the field of religious studies. In case of a study of discipline the following aspects are considered: religious traditions in historical and cultural space of Kazakhstan; entity of the Hanafi methodology and ideology and its influence on religious consciousness of Kazakhs; the main sources of Islam, ideological bases and the fundamental principles of Islam of Sunni sense within interpretation of the Hanafi madhhab; a ratio of Islam and traditions within Sunni Islam of Hanafi sense; phenomenon of universality and inclusivity, peculiar to spiritual heritage and religious traditions of Kazakhs; the status of the woman in traditional Kazakh society.

The course is aimed at developing a modern scientific and philosophical worldview and methodology of consciousness, which has an important ideological significance for the development of science and culture, as well as to improve the theoretical level of teaching the course in higher education institutions.
