Within the framework of the Kazakh-Qatari Investment Forum in Astana, a Memorandum between KazNU and Qatar University was signed.

The meeting of the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev with the President of Qatar University Hassan Rashid Al-Derham ended with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities, which determined the directions of further partnership.

"As part of the academic mobility program for students and teaching staff, young scientists of KazNU traveled to universities in Qatar to undergo and conduct research. Actively developing the practice of attracting foreign scientists to universities in Kazakhstan, we invited prominent scientists from Qatar to give lectures and provide scientific guidance to PhD students" the rector noted. Concluding his speech, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev expressed confidence that the memorandum would give a new impetus to the development of mutually beneficial relations.

In turn, the President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan Rashid Al-Dirham outlined the activities of the university. Qatar University (QU) founded in 1977, is the country's main higher education institution. QU has successfully received the approval of many leading international accreditation organizations. QU has 11 colleges, there are academic programs: 50 bachelor's degree, 47 master's degree. More than 23,000 people study at the university. "Qatar University has become a beacon of academic and research excellence in the country today. The signing of the memorandum is an event whose significance cannot be overestimated. I am sure that our cooperation will be beneficial and take on a larger scale" the head of the university stressed.

Cooperation within the framework of the memorandum signed between the universities covers the following areas: exchange of experience, information, results of scientific research, statistical data, publication of materials, joint research, conferences, meetings and trainings.
