The opening of the audience named after Abish Kekilbayev and the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference «Abish Kekilbayev - an outstanding personality of the era» were held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on October 26, 2019 as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the outstanding statesman and public figure, people's writer of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Abish Kekilbayev.

 Within the framework of the program of the POSCO TJ Park Foundation, ten students of Al-Farabi KazNU was awarded the «Scholarships for the best students in Asian countries». It is issued annually to the best students of 12 Universities in 10 countries of Asia.

A round table “Egemen Qazaqstan - a hundred-year-old chronicle of the Kazakh”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the republican newspaper “Egemen Qazaqstan” and the 85th anniversary of the faculty of journalism was held at the Al-Farabi KazNU. Before the event began, a tour of the university campus was organized for the delegation of the Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper, which started with a visit to the Al-Farabi Science Library. The library, decorated in oriental style, has more than 2 million resources and is a platform for new technologies and communication solutions.

The Х International Beremzhanov Congress on Chemistry and Chemical Technology was held at Al-Farabi KazNU. Events within the Congress were c in conducted in the Al-Farabi library, as well as in the Malachite Hall of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology.

Indonesian University «Universitas Pertamina» is interested in close cooperation with Al-Farabi KazNU. Vice-Rector for Science, Development and Cooperation of the Indonesian University, Mr. Budi W. Soetjipto stated this during a meeting with the leadership of KazNU.

Al-Farabi KazNU, together with a company from France, Electritis de France (EDF), launches a smart campus project. This was informed during a meeting of Rector of KazNU Galym Mutanov with Director of the European Institute for Energy Research EDF Pascal Terrien.

A meeting with Indian scientist, author of the book about Mirza Muhammad Haidar Duglat - Mansura Haidar was held at the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The meeting was organized by the Faculty of History, Archaeology and Ethnology.  Undergraduate, Master and PhD students of KazNU and guests from Abai KazNPU, Ch.Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology participated in the event.

KAZENERGY Association and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.announced a new StudentDigitalFest contest among the students of Kazakhstani universities.

The first International Symposium entitled «Academic Trends in Higher Education for Tolerance» was first held in Valletta (Malta). The event, which was attended by representatives of countries from all over the world, was organized by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace with the support of the President of Malta, George Vella.

 At the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, was held an event “Journalism in Afghanistan”  dedicated to the graduate student of the faculty of pre-university training (2011), the faculty of journalism (2015) Said Samim Faramarz.
