Purpose of EP

High-quality training of highly qualified specialists for the educational sphere in universities, and for domestic and foreign research centers in the field of nuclear physics.

The program is aimed at forming a professional personality of a specialist capable of:

- critical analysis and evaluation of modern achievements, generation of new ideas in solving research and practical problems, including in interdisciplinary fields.

- participate in the work of Kazakhstani and foreign research teams to solve scientific and scientific-educational tasks.

- use modern methods and technologies of scientific communication in the state and foreign languages.

- plan and solve the tasks of your own professional and personal development.

- independently carry out research activities in the field of nuclear physics using modern research methods and information and communication technologies.

- independently develop theoretical models to study the structure and properties of atomic nuclei, nuclear reactions, the interaction of nuclei with beams of elementary particles at low intermediate and high energies, as well as to identify the role of nuclear interactions in astrophysical phenomena.

- independently or as part of a research group to develop experimental methods for studying the physics of fission and nuclear fusion the synthesis of superheavy elements, as well as mesoatomic and mesomolecular physics and physics of muon catalysis

- independently or as part of a research group to design and create new experimental installations and equipment for research in nuclear physics and cosmic ray physics;

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this educational program, it is expected that doctoral students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate fundamental, systemic knowledge in the field of nuclear physics, teaching methods at the university within the framework of modern scientific paradigms of knowledge.

2. Conduct critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas, problems, approaches and trends in the field of nuclear physics.

3. Critically evaluate the results of scientific research, modern theories, problems and approaches, new trends in research in the field of nuclear physics and elementary particles.

4. Generate new and complex goals, propose new hypotheses and solutions to scientific problems in the field of nuclear physics based on an independent original approach.

5. To organize research, project, and educational and professional activities of students in bachelor's and master's degree programs.

6. To present the results of educational and research activities in the form of scientific reports, abstracts, abstracts of articles, monographs, doctoral dissertations, educational research, and scientific projects, etc. both to specialists and in an audience without appropriate professional training.

7. To evaluate the validity of the selected methods used in scientific research.

8. Formulate scientific goals and objectives and find solutions to them.

To implement the educational program, the faculty has a highly qualified personnel potential: more than 20 doctors and 50 candidates of sciences, PhD doctors among whom are honored workers of science and technology, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Academy of Sciences of Higher School, laureates of State prizes and scholarships, holders of government awards and grants "Best University Teacher" of different years.
