Purpose of EP

The purpose of the educational program is the training of highly qualified specialists of modern formation, with strong knowledge of theoretical physics and plasma physics, professional and general cultural competencies; as well as specialists capable of:

- use modern knowledge of physics to solve fundamental, applied and innovative problems in scientific-research activities;

- carry out independent scientific research to solve various problems of theoretical physics and plasma physics;

- talk and discussion at the international level with the scientific community on topics close to the topic of research in the field of theoretical physics and plasma physics;

- work both individually and in a team.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this program it is expected that the doctoral students will be able to:

1 Systematize and interpret in practice a set of theoretical principles for solving a various type of problems of the theoretical physics and physics-chemical principles of plasma technology;

2 Develop modern technologies used to solve actual problems of theoretical physics and plasma physics;

3 To propose new mathematical methods for solving problems in modified theories of gravity, in the general theory of relativity, in the theory of the scattering of waves and particles, and also to analyze and discuss the obtained results;

4 Generate new ideas and knowledge by conducting original research in the field of theoretical physics, plasma physics, cosmology and astrophysics; 

5 Development of educational-methodological documentation based on credit technologies, taking into account the individual characteristics of students, conducting practical and lecture lessons using various strategies and learning technologies; 

6 Design physical models for describing various phenomena in the theory of gravity, in the physics of compact objects, in the theory of elementary particles and in the physics of extreme states;

7 Conduct educational work based on the theory of education management and self-analysis of teaching, analyze and evaluate educational situations from the perspective of the theory of the pedagogical process;

8 To plan and organize research in a scientific-research institutions, in universities, to determine the direction of fundamental and applied research;

9 To make a description of the physical picture of the Universe and its Evolution, to describe new cosmological effects; describe the current state of elementary particle physics and fundamental interactions within the framework of the standard model;

10 develop fundamental and applied research in the field of theoretical physics and plasma physics based on theoretical and experimental studies;

11 Conduct experimental studies and observations on experimental installations, scientific instruments to obtain new knowledge;

12 Work in a scientific team, write scientific articles with a high impact factor, organize various scientific conferences, lead a conversation and discuss internationally with the scientific community on topics close to the topic of research in the field of theoretical physics, nuclear physics, and plasma physics.

Academic activity

Academic activity of the EP is carried out:

- within the framework of existing regulatory documents and methodological recommendations in the field of higher education in the field of physical sciences;

- as a result of the implementation of regulatory documents regulating the educational and methodological process at the university;

- generalization and dissemination of new normative legal acts concerning methodological work;

- current and long-term planning of the educational and methodological work of the university; coordination of the educational and methodological complex of the discipline (EMCD) of the department for compliance with regulatory legal acts, the working curriculum and the educational program;

- monitoring the provision of the educational process with teaching materials, documenting the results;

- development of teaching materials; development and implementation of the working curriculum.

Scientific activity

To implement the educational program at the faculty there is a highly qualified human potential: more than 20 doctors and 50 candidates of sciences, PhD doctors, among them are honored scientists and technicians, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the RK, Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, International Academy of Sciences of the Higher School, laureates of State prizes and scholarships, holders of government awards and grants "The best teacher of higher educational institutions" of different years.

The students will be trained in the scientific schools of leading scientists, such as academicians of the NAS RK Kozhamkulov T.A., Takibaev N.Zh., Ramazanov T.S., Zhusupov M.A.

Skills of scientific research work doctoral students can apply on the basis of the research institute of theoretical and experimental physics and the national nanotechnology laboratory of open type at KazNU al-Farabi.

International activity

Doctoral students take part in scientific internships at leading research universities abroad, where they conduct scientific research under the guidance of a foreign scientific adviser: Kiel Albert University, Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics, Professor, Dr. Holger Kersten, Valencia Polytechnic University (Valencia, Spain), Professor Tkachenko Gursky I.M., Osaka University (Osaka, Japan) Professor Hiroyuki Noumi, Hokkaido University (Hokkaido, Japan) Professor K.
