Purpose

The purpose of the Educational Program is to prepare a qualitatively new generation of financial managers who possess key competencies, modern technologies and financial management tools: 

-       who have fundamental scientific knowledge in the field of finance, are professionally fluent in foreign languages, modern information and innovative technologies;

-       a specialist who can critically analyze and manage the activities of financial institutions, who can evaluate and synthesize effective financial solutions;

-       capable of formulating and solving modern scientific and practical problems, organizing and successfully carrying out scientific and pedagogical, scientific research and experimental research activities;

-       who are competent in carrying out the examination of scientific projects and research.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this educational program, doctoral students are expected to be able to:

ON1 Demonstrate the logical scientific thinking necessary to use the methodological foundations of research; collect and interpret sources of information for making professional judgments in the field of research, applying the skills of drawing up and preparing scientific and technical documentation, scientific reports, reviews, reports and articles in the field of finance;

ON2 Possess fundamental, systemic knowledge in the field of finance, professional methods of teaching specialty disciplines in universities and colleges, including theoretical and methodological principles, methods, techniques and methods of processing economic information, modern approaches, trends and trends in registration and processing of information necessary for formation of financial statements in accordance with international standards;

ON3 Critically assess and compare the fundamental concepts of finance, allowing to give a critical assessment of the problems studied and discussed in the development of the financial system in the world, Europe, as well as trends in the development of the financial system;

ON4 Process and systematize financial and economic indicators from various sources to develop a model and strategy for making financial decisions; formulate the objectives of the organization's financial strategy to minimize financial risks; recommend alternative options for financial solutions in specific situations;

ON5 Analyze the results of calculations and apply them to solve analytical and research problems for a reasonable presentation of scientific results and discussion in scientific discussions and publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals;

ON6 to organize, plan and conduct independent scientific research in the field of finance; substantiate the theoretical, methodological and socio-economic significance of research; develop methods and tools for conducting research; demonstrate the effectiveness of the selected methods and tools for solving the assigned tasks. ;

ON7 to develop applied models of the investigated processes, phenomena and objects related to the field of finance; develop and implement recommendations on the problem under study;

ON8 Create and market innovations in the form of financial products, financial processes, technologies and institutions, using information and communication technologies; practice the provision of consulting services in financial analytics. ;

ON9 To develop teaching materials for conducting classes and extracurricular work in disciplines of the specialty in universities and colleges using traditional, innovative, interactive, student-centered technologies and teaching methods; to develop a methodology for teaching disciplines for the implementation of educational activities during teaching practice;

ON10 possess the skills of developing corporate strategy, planning, coordinating and managing the financial and economic activities of the company in order to achieve the maximum aggregate efficiency of raising and using finance;

ON11 possess the skills of conducting an independent financial examination of a commercial project, fulfilling licensing, certification requirements and regulatory and methodological documents for assessing the effectiveness of financial investments, optimizing business processes, business models, choosing effective solutions for the development of a company, improving the quality of financial services;

ON12 Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative; form business contacts, carry out effective communications with the internal and external environment of the company; to navigate adequately in various social situations; fluently master a foreign language for scientific communication and international cooperation.

Scientific activity 

For the implementation of the educational program at the faculty there are centers:

This educational program allows you to train doctoral students in accordance with the new requirements of the labor market, global and local requirements:

- to demonstrate the presence of a significant amount of scientific knowledge acquired in a systematic way and allowing to analyze the dynamics of the development of financial institutions, as well as to assess the prospects for their development in modern conditions;

- to identify trends and patterns in the use of financial instruments in modern practice;

- to analyze information from various sources, in global computer networks, allowing to give a critical assessment of the problems studied and discussed in the framework of the development of financial institutions in the world;

- develop practical recommendations for applying these tools in real-life scenarios, providing financial professionals and non-specialists with a deeper understanding of the market in the corporate sector, as well as in banking and finance;

- post publications based on the results of the research in foreign scientific journals that have a non-zero impact factor according to the database of scientific journals of the Thomson Reuters company or included in the Scopus database, as well as participate in international scientific / methodological conferences.

The educational program in the specialty 8D04110 - Finance has passed the specialized accreditation of KAZSEE on June 18, 2021.

According to the results of the IAAR and IQAA rating, the educational program takes the 3rd place by the PPA - the 2nd place.

Bases of practice: AIFC, National Bank, second-tier banks, insurance organizations, leasing companies and other financial organizations providing financing.

The best modern educational methods are used in teaching, including case studies, trainings, as well as a combination of individual and team work. Representatives of employers are actively involved in the implementation of these forms of employment.
