EP purpose

The program is aimed at training a specialist who is able to: make sound assessments, interpretations, and also correctly apply this knowledge to professional situations and problems; use the latest technology in the study of archaeological antiquities; reasonably represent your opinion on professional issues, taking into account the knowledge gained.

Educational outcome

 

ON-1 Сonduct field ethnographic research using empirical methods: description, interview, survey, observation, questioning, comparative functional analysis;

ON-2 Record and process field ethnographic materials, classify them, study information about the informant, draw up accounting and reporting documentation;

ON-3 Ethnographic investigation, create a database of ethnographic sources, using information technology;

ON-4 Conduct classes on the ethnography of the peoples of the world, the ethnography of  the Turkic people, the ethnogenesis and ethnic history of the Kazakh people in scientific, educational, historical and cultural centers, circles, elective schools;

ON-5 Carry out scientific, educational, methodical activities in historical and cultural centers, museum institutions, conduct tours, make expositions;

ON-6 Conduct archaeological excavations on the basis of scientific methodology and in compliance with legislation in the field of preservation of cultural heritage ;

ON-7 Carry out an inventory of artifacts found during excavations and classify them according to external characteristics, prepare the transportation of finds ;

ON-8 Make a description, processing, photo and video fixation of artifacts using best practices;

ON-9 Conduct desk research of archaeological artifacts, laboratory processing and scientific analysis of the collected material;

ON-10 Carry out identification of archaeological materials on the basis of a comparative method and typology of objects, taking into account the historical and cultural differences;

ON-11 Contribute to the preservation of historical and cultural values by the methods of restoration and conservation on the basis of technical documentation, descriptions, using retrospective, source study analysis, observing safety precautions;

ON-12 Develop the ability to interpersonal social and professional communication in the state, Russian and foreign languages, work in a team, be able to additional training.

Comparison with similar programs of foreign universities

The educational program is being modernized, focusing on high international standards and changing market needs. When compiling it, the experience of leading foreign universities leading to the training of specialists in this field was taken into account: University of Washington, University of San Francisco, University of Oregon, Instituto Europeo design, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Birmingham city University, Lorenzo de Medici Institute, Norwich University.

This is reflected in the quantitative increase in elective disciplines, their diversity, the increasing use of innovative technologies and means of communication, the emergence of new directions in the scientific and academic fields.
