RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION CENTER OPENED IN ALMATY

Today, a "Restoration and conservation Center" was opened in Almaty in the RSE "Gylym Ordasy". The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek.
The Scientific Center has no analogues in the country and is equipped with 65 modern equipment from Germany, Italy, Russia, China, Japan.
The center consists of five departments: chemical laboratory, restoration department, quarantine, research departments and photo fixation department. They carry out research on the structure of paper and other materials, ink features, chemical and microbiological research of books, work on the manufacture of microclimatic boxes made of acid-free cardboard for storing documents.
At the event, Minister Sayasat Nurbek stressed the importance of opening the center and its contribution to the field of science.
"One of the most important priorities of any society is the preservation of knowledge. Today, for the first time in Kazakhstan, a full-cycle restoration center has opened, where books, newspapers and magazines undergo five levels of restoration and conservation. Therefore, this center is very important for the development of domestic science. We will also now work in the areas of personnel training in the restoration business," the minister said.
