“The Role of the UN in the 21st Century” dedicated to the Founding Day of the United Nations

October 24, 2023 Academic regional resource center for information about the UN at the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU jointly with the UN Department of Global Communications representative office in Almaty, held an international round table “The Role of the UN in the 21st Century” in Almaty, dedicated to UN Day. The round table was held in the UN Plaza building in Almaty, which was symbolic for the participants.

During the round table, there were presented reports and speeches on the role of the UN in resolving modern conflicts, the implementation of 17 sustainable goals and the contribution of youth to this process. The initiatives and contribution of modern youth to the activities of the UN and the promotion of 17 sustainable development goals were also discussed.

October 25 is Republic Day

Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals of Kazakhstan, a special round table dedicated to the Republic Day was held on October 23 with 3rd–year students of the International Relations specialty of the Faculty of International Relations of the Adviser Group, Associate Professor A.R. Alipbayev. The purpose of the event: modernization of the national holiday, to determine the ways of sustainable development in the future of our country among young people.

The students realized that October 25 was an important moment in the history of the country, and reflecting on the political situation of that period, they realized the value of the most important document adopted. A.R. Alipbayev shared his memories of the citizens who prepared the historical document. He also introduced the students to the issues of the newspapers "Leninshil Zhas", "Socialist Kazakhstan" dated October 30, 1990. These publications are valuable issues in which the text of the Declaration of Sovereignty is printed.

This event has been inspired by the thought-provoking research conducted by Aida Yerimpasheva titled “The Impact of Logistics on Economic Cooperation in Central Asia,” which has been accepted for presentation at the 18th International SilkRoad Conference (ISRC 2023) that will be held in Tbilisi on 20-22 October 2023 in the Black Sea University.

Round table "Society and its challenges"

On February 24, 2023, a round table was held by first-year students on the topic "Society and its challenges", together with advisor Alipkyzy Ramina.  This event had an educational character, within the framework of which the actual problems of the Kazakhstani society, in particular the youth, were touched upon, as well as the discussion and their most rational solutions.  The round table was held for 1-4 year students of the Faculty of International Relations of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
