Diploma for scientific discovery obtained

At the end of January 2019, the International Academy of Authors of Scientific Discoveries and Inventions issued a diploma for the discovery of “The phenomenon of post-electrolytic dissolution of titanium in aqueous acidic solutions” to the professor of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry at al-Farabi Kazakh National University Azhar Baeshova, as well as her colleagues-electrochemists from the Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry academicians M.Zh. Zhurinov and A.B. Baeshov. In addition, the authors of the discovery received an honorary medal of P. Kapitsa.

The discovery formula reads as follows: “The previously unknown phenomenon of post-electrolysis chemical dissolution of titanium in aqueous acidic solutions has been established, which consists in the fact that during the preliminary polarization of metal by transient currents (cathode pulsed, industrial variables), the oxide film is removed on the titanium surface, leading to a shift in the magnitude electrode potential of titanium and its chemical dissolution in aqueous acidic solutions (sulphate, hydrochloric acid) ".

Congratulations to colleagues and we wish them further creative success!
