On November 20, 2023, the “Korean Studies Week” event started at the Department of the Far East (Korean Studies). This event is held regularly every year and is the most notable annual event of the Department. Several programs are held throughout the week to provide students with a deeper understanding of Korea and Korean studies. On November 20 (Monday), the first program was the “Korean poetry reading competition” This program was conducted under the direction of professor Lee Byong Jo and was attended by students interested in Korean literature. A total of 7 participants chose their favorite Korean poems (“Flower”, “In June”, etc.) and recited them with beautiful voices and rich emotions. The competition provided participants with a better understanding of Korean poetry and literature.
