Usually, most of the students of The Department of the Far East region are girls. The young teachers from South Korea hold a master class in cooking Korean cuisine annually. Korean dishes appeared on the table from the skilled hands of Korean teachers.
In order to increase the level of knowledge and competence in the field of Japanese language, acquaintance with the specifics of the language, the culture of Japan, the Department of the Far East hosted the traditional Week of Japanese Studies in KazNU.
KazNU traditionally hosted the Japanese Speech Contest in Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the Japanese Studies week, a meeting was held with Professor Inoue Ken and undergraduate Yoshida Shogo from Kouchi University (Tokyo, Japan). The main event of the meeting was the lecture of the undergraduate Yoshida Shogo on the topic “Medicine and Health in Japan”.
The Department of the Far East has been working closely with the Japan Foundation for the Development of International Relations for more than 20 years, promoting the Japanese language and culture throughout the world. The Japanese Foundation was established in 1972 as a special organization under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and since that time it has been the core of cultural exchange, which Japan carries out with the countries of the world community.
On February 20, the annual karaoke contest in Japanese was held at the Japan Human Resource Development Center.
The Far East Department of the, Faculty of Oriental Studies of al-Farabi Kazakh National University invites everyone to attend the Japanese Week of “Journey to the Land of the Rising Sun”.
The first-year students of the Japanese Studies Department,of the Far East Department, under the guidance of the curator-adviser, took part in a curatorial hour devoted to the discussion of the article by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe”.
In period from 30.08.2018 to 21.12.2018, I have been studying in Bunkyo Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan, being first student from al-Farabi Kazakh National University to participate in Multi-Lateral Program.
The Department of the Far East presented scholarship programs of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, which were received by undergraduates, graduates and doctoral students of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
