About the awards ceremony

In February 2023, within the framework of the SDGs and for the International Day of Women in Science, the competition “ Women in Tech” among students in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data of the Faculty of Information Technology. The competition consisted of 2 stages, the first was testing, the second was an online presentation. They took part both individually and in a team of no more than 3 people. Papers were accepted in three main sections: 1. Research and Data 2. Gender Equality in STEM 3. Information Technology in Interdisciplinary Research. Also, the speakers were given the opportunity to offer their section, in case there were difficulties with the definition of the section. According to the proposed sections, the members of the commission grouped the fourth section - Automation and control, robotics. At the time of closing the registration, 57 applications were accepted, of which 42 people reached the final, and these are 13 team and 5 individual entries from 5 universities. Students from Satpayev University, Daukeev Almaty University of Energy and Communications , Almaty Technological University , faculties of information technology, biology and medicine of KazNU named after Al-Farabi and 1 doctoral student of L.N. Gumilyov. Participants Apeksha and Misha Vyas sisters of a student from India of the medical faculty of KazNU .

According to the program, the reports were heard online on March 15, and the award and closing ceremony on March 16 at 12.30 pm in the conference hall of the KazNU Library . By decision of the commission, 6 team and 2 individual works were awarded certificates of achievement in the following nominations:

Participants of the competition were awarded certificates of participation, certificates of achievement for nominees and incentive gifts.
