Extended meeting of the Educational and Methodological Council “052-Environment”

On March 14, 2024, an extended meeting of the Educational and Methodological Council “052-Environment” was held on the basis of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the participation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, leading universities from near and far abroad, specialising in educational programs “Hydrology”, “Water Resources Management”, “Hydrometeorology”.
Participants of the meeting: Al-Farabi KazNU, Kyrgyz State Technical University, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Russian State Hydrometeorological University (St. Petersburg, Russia), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Valencia, Spain), Research University of Environmental Problems, Regional Ecological Center for Central Asia, L.N. Gumilev ENU, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Academician E.A. Buketov Karaganda State University, Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Faculty of Natural Sciences, M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan State University, Research Center “Kazhydromet”, H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Narxoz University, Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University, Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Abai KazNPU, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University.
During the meeting the following were discussed:
– Water resources of Kazakhstan and the problem of their rational use.
– Training of specialists in monitoring solid runoff in mountain and lowland rivers of Kazakhstan.
– About international projects on water resources of Kazakhstan and ways of their implementation.
– About the international educational program “Water Diplomacy”.
