On March 13, 2024, on the eve of the “Korisu Kuni” holiday, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Land Management, Geodesy and Cartography was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management. The events organized as part of the 90th anniversary of the university were attended by: Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Director of the Republican State Institution "Almaty State Nature Reserve" of the Committee of Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abilganiev Daryn, Deputy Director of the branch of the RSE Kazhydromet for Almaty and the Almaty region Shakhabayev Kuanysh, Deputy General Director of the "Institute of economics" Chulanova Zaure, Head of the water resources laboratory of JSC "Institute of Geography and Water Security" Tursunova Aisulu, Head of the laboratory for modeling hydrodynamic and geoecological processes, LLP Institute of Hydrogeology and Geoecology named after U.M. Akhmedsafin Sotnikov Evgeniy, Representative of the Regional Environmental Center of Central Asia (CAREC) Kauazov Azamat.

The event was opened by the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev, noting the importance of cooperation between research institutes, subordinate organizations of the Ministries and local executive bodies, which is one of the indicators of achieving SDG 4 “Quality education”, SDG 8 “Decent work and economic growth” and SDG 17 “ Partnership for sustainable development."

During the event, the teaching staff were awarded the university medal “Eren Enbegi Ushin” for fruitful work within the university, contribution to the development and prosperity of the university, as well as the “Best Surveyor” badge and letters of gratitude from the Committee of Geodesy and Cartography of the Ministry of Digital Development, innovations and aerospace industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Day of Land Management, Geodesy and Cartography.
