On November 18, 2023 at 09.00, the International Conference «GIS Day Kazakhstan» will be held in the Al-Farabi Library, the main goal of which is to unite like-minded people in the field of geographic information systems. This event will be dedicated to International GIS Day.

The event will be held in a hybrid mode - on the basis of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and online connections from different countries, including the USA, Uzbekistan, Russia, etc.

The participants of the conference were from international companies, such as FAO, Whoosh, Leica and national companies - Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary, KazAeroSpace, etc. There were a lot of speakers from universities - Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Nazarbayev university, Université Grenoble Alpes, ready to share their developments and research.

The topics of the reports are devoted to different areas, ranging from methods of using GIS platforms to the use of AI in mapping. There are many thematic reports on the environmental situation in the regions, as well as research methods using GIS.

Also during the conference, two master classes will be held, with a main focus on practical knowledge in using ArcGIS and Google Cloud platforms.
