The project "Best Student-2018" was held on 27.04.2018 in the "Tilep Kobyz" Palace in Astana, among the students of the Republican higher educational institutions, organized by the Public Fund "Bridges of Concord".

In the KazNU. al-Farabi hosted the 7th International Student Conference "UN Model - New Silk Road" (NSWMUN).
Over 350 delegates from 20 countries took part in the conference, including Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as students from the USA, Italy, France, etc.

The international school "Kazakh language is the language of international communication" is organized by the Language and General Education Department of Foreigners and the Resource Center for Talented Education in cooperation with the Moscow State Linguistic University (Russia) with the support of Foundation of First President-Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy.

From 8 to 13 April 2018, the annual international geographical conference "European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly" was held in Vienna (Austria) under the patronage of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research.  

The International Scientific Conference “Arid Lands: Sustainability of Nature and Society” devoted to the urgent problems of sustainable development of arid territories in the central part of Eurasia was held on April 11-12th, 2018 in al-FarabiKazNU, jointly with Oxford University (UK) and the National Committee of UNESCO’s “Man and the Biosphere”. This demonstrates the interest of the international scientific community in addressing the global problem under consideration humanity, and gives the meeting a special status in the adoption of responsible science-based decisions in practice. 100 scientists, teachers, students and undergraduates from all over the world took part in the conference and presented their reports. 

April 10, within the framework of the V International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Farabi Alemi" at the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre KazNU. Al-Farabi held a round table on the theme "The influence of geopolitical factors on the socio-economic development of the Kazakhstan section of the new economic belt of the Silk Road (ESRP)." 

On  9th -10th   of April 2018, at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held the VII International Student Forum “Green Bridge Through Generations”, which  organized jointly with the Ural Federal University named after the first President B.N. Yeltsin and dedicated to promotion of values and principles of Sustainable Development and the “Green” Economy for future generations, discussing opportunities and options for a large-scale dissemination of the basic ideas of Sustainable Development on the Eurasian territory. 

On April 9-12, 2018, within the framework of V International Farabievsky, the annual international scientific conference of students and young scientists of readings "FARABI ӘLEMI" was held. The department of geography, land management and cadastre passed section sessions on the directions "Geography", "Land Management" and "Cadastre". 

April 5-6 in the scientific library of KazNU. Al-Farabi III round of the Republican Olympiad "AL-FARABI-2018" for students of the 11th grades. The Olympiad was held in 13 subjects. Organizers and members of the jury in the subject of geography were teachers of the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre Nyusupova G.N, Kozhakhmetov B.T, Kalimurzin A.M, Aubakirova G.B. Participants in the Geography Olympiad defended scientific (design) works, performed practical and field assignments. According to the results of the Olympiad 1 - the place was awarded to the 11th grade pupil of the school # 45 in Almaty, Tanirbergen Uldana; 2 - a place - to the pupil of 12th class NIS of Almaty Amangeldy Altynay; 3 - the place was occupied by the pupil of the 11th class of the profile school of KazNU. al - Farabi Pazilov Ramitan. The Olympiad was held at a high level and contributed to the development of students' interest in the knowledge and skills that are necessary for choosing a future profession related to geography.
