TRAINING SESSIONS FOR YOUTH LEADERS ON ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION

On January 1, 2023, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science launched a project on the primary prevention of substance use and alcohol and psychological support for students. The project is implemented jointly with the NGO "Partners in Health" and is actively supported by the faculty administration. A special feature of this project is that it involves training youth leaders who will conduct prevention work among students according to the peer-to-peer principle. Volunteer students will conduct psychological trainings, consultations, and provide informational support to their peers, which greatly increases the effectiveness of such psychological assistance.

On March 15-17, 2023, the first training seminar for student volunteers was held at the Kazzhol Hotel. For 3 days youth leaders from among students of psychology studied methods of work to develop skills of conscious behavior in relation to the use of alcohol and drugs, were trained in methods of reducing stress and increasing stress resistance, algorithms of the first psychological aid. It is planned that in the near future they will start to conduct trainings and consultations on this topic for their peers - students of our university. Training for student volunteers was conducted by psychologists, teachers of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science Z.B. Madalieva and Kudaibergenova S.K.
