In a few days, the state of emergency will end in Kazakhstan. This means that frightening warnings will finally stop being broadcast on television and the curfew will stop in Almaty. It means that life in the cities and villages of our country will soon be in full swing again and the wounds inflicted on our beautiful Almaty will gradually heal.

But does this mean that the terrible events of the first days of January 2022, rightly called by the President K-Zh. Tokayev's «Almaty tragedy», will they soon be forgotten and will be mentioned only on the pages of textbooks of the modern history of Kazakhstan? In our opinion, it is impossible to allow this in any case! Another famous British philosopher and politician Edmund Burke wrote: «Those who don't look back can't look forward».

Now, after all that has happened, all of us - the leadership of Kazakhstan, the multinational people of Kazakhstan and, above all, the Kazakh people as a state-forming nation, need to comprehend the reasons for what happened, make, perhaps, unpleasant conclusions and determine the ways of further development of our country.

In our opinion, the primary task at the moment is to achieve genuine unity of the people of Kazakhstan. Not declarative, decorated with all sorts of pompous anniversaries, celebrations, forums and other decorative events, but real national unity. Such unity that the Kazakhs showed during the years of opposition to the Dzungars after the fateful meeting of the three great biys Tole, Kazybek and Aiteke in Ordabasy in 1726. Unity similar to that demonstrated by the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.

A wise Kazakh proverb says: «The beginning of success is unity, the basis of prosperity is life» The Great Abai in his «Words of Edification» wrote: «Brothers should live in harmony, not because they are dependent on each other, but relying on their skills and strength, each hoping for their own destiny. Otherwise, they will forget God, and will not do business, but will look for misfortunes on each other. They will wallow in mutual insults, slander, deceive and deceive each other. How can unity be achieved here?»

The same Abai bequeathed to us: «Who poisoned Socrates, who burned Jeanne d'Ark, who executed Gaisa, who buried our prophet in the remains of a camel? - The crowd. The crowd is reckless. Be able to direct her to the path of truth». It seems that our common task now is precisely to determine such a path of truth and direct the entire people of Kazakhstan to it.

In conclusion, I would like to introduce the word to the wise Abai again: «Who among us has not had to be in trouble? Only the weak lose hope. It is true that nothing is unchangeable in the world, but evil is not eternal either. Isn't there a full-flowing blooming spring after a harsh winter?»
