On November 10-11, 2018, in the sports complex of KazNU, competitions were held - the Championship of Almaty among youth under 23 years old in sambo wrestling. They were attended by 164 athletes representing 8 city teams.
Worthy were the students and students of our university, showing their high skill.
Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Mohammad Abdulmadzhid, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, 1st year and Aldash Nurdos, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, 2nd year, took the fourth place in the 1st International Beach Volleyball Tournament "Burevestnik Cup."
From 2 to 4 November 2018 in Almaty, on the volleyball grounds of the KazNU, the first international beach volleyball tournament “Burevestnik Cup” took place, in which 16 pairs took part: Burevestnik team, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, from SKO, VKO, Almaty region, Chundzhy, from the Academy of Border Service and from the city of Almaty.

250 athletes from 45 countries took part. The Kazakhstan team took the 6th team place.
Zhanna Mamazhanova, graduate student of the specialty “Physical Culture and Sports”, finished the distance of 42.195 km, showing the time - 2:38:56.
24 students of KazNU took part in 12 sports. Athletes-students of the University won 13 medals.
Anastasia Ermakova - a first-year student of the specialty "FKiS" of the medical faculty of the KazNU named after Al-Farabi, became a prize-winner of the Junior Asian Championship in Athletics.
