svetlana.podporyna@kaznu.kz

The essence of orienteering is that the athlete with the help of a map, compass, chip, and his orienteering skills and reading the map can as quickly as possible and, more importantly, correctly overcome the distance marked on the map. Immediately after the start, the athlete is left alone with nature. In addition, in this nature there are control points that the athlete must find and mark with the help of a chip.

This sport cannot be defeated with only fast legs, or a smart head. In order to become the best, an athlete must develop in himself both physical qualities and learn to read the map correctly, quickly and accurately. This is achieved only through repeated training and gaining experience in competitions. Starts can be in the mountains, and in the forests, and in the fields, and even in urban conditions. Along the course, orienteers may encounter obstacles in the form of streams, rivers, fallen trees, steep mountains, impassable bushes and any other creations of nature.

In the classroom, we develop and improve:

- Physical form (general and special physical training)

- Tactical and technical memory, attention, techniques and methods of orientation

- Knowledge of special conventional signs with which sports cards are drawn

- Memory, attention
