MASTER CLASSES HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF THE MIDDLE EAST AND SOUTH ASIA

February 12, 2020 in the framework of the 50th International scientific and methodological conference "Modern interpretation of the pedagogical concept of al-Farabi in the conditions of digitalization of education", dedicated to the anniversary of al-Farabi, at the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi at the Department of Middle East and South Asia of the faculty of Oriental studies, foreign doctors Sabri Muaz Suleiman Hussein and Abulfutuh Sabri Yunus conducted master classes.

At the Department of Middle East and South Asia studies students learn such languages as Arabic, Persian, Hindi and Urdu. In particular, Arabic is known as an official language of more than twenty Arab countries in the world, as well as one of the official languages of the United Nations.

Teachers and undergraduates of the department took part in a master class on "The Effectiveness of stimulating language proficiency" conducted by a doctor from Jordan, Sabri Muaz Suleiman Hussein, who is currently a teacher at the department. Upon request of the department, Dr. Sabri conducted his master class in Russian. Dr. Sabri told the audience about various prerequisites and obstacles for stimulating language proficiency. The teachers took an active part and shared their opinions.

An Egyptian doctor Abulfutuh Sabri Yunus, who teaches Arabic to students, held a master class in Arabic on the topic "Verbal language and how to understand it?". It was attended by teachers and undergraduates of Department. Dr. Yunus shared his teaching experience, comparing the ways of learning Arabic with English. He shared interesting materials about effective ways of teaching Arabic to foreigners. He specially prepared a presentation material. Teachers of the Department asked questions and discussed different opinions.

The master classes of the two doctors were held at a very high level. We can say that these master classes gave a new information to teachers and undergraduates of the Department in terms of exchange of experience with foreign teachers in language training.
