On the period from September 14 to December 27, 2020, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre underwent research practice based on Kazakhstan Agency of Applied Ecology LLP. During the practice, the students of the department were acquainted with the structure of the organization and the services provided by the company. During the practice, students of the department saw from their own experience how design, engineering, consulting services and analytical work are provided in the field of environmental protection and ecological safety without harming the environment and public health.

One of the main directions in the work of KAPE is the development of projects on the Environmental Impact Assessment; the students were also shown the stages of the EIA.

Also in the Department of Geographic Information Systems, employees of the organization consolidated the obtained theoretical and practical knowledge of students by explaining the basic services provided by the company, namely:

• Creation of digital maps and spatial data;
• Creation of digital terrain models (DTM);
• Creation of digital elevation models (DEM);
• Modeling based on data from space and aerial photography;
• Thematic mapping based on 3D analysis data;
• Integration and creation of geodatabase of various topics and purposes;
• Creation and development of portals and geoportals for urban environment and infrastructure management;
• Formation of systems for land use and agriculture of regions and districts.

It should be noted that KAAE is one of the main employers for the students of the department.
