On February 20, 2020, at the Department of Geography, Land management and cadastre, a meeting of employers of specialties “Geography”, “Land Resources” and “Cadastre” was held in the person of deputy director of LLP GRADA Rishad Ibragimov and director of Global Custums Nikolay Marusech. The meeting was attended by the faculty of the department, students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the above specialties. The issues of competencies of the graduate of our specialties, their skills and professional skills in work were actively discussed. They noted the need for knowledge of foreign languages (mainly English and Chinese) and the personal qualities of graduates (responsibility, sociability, fast learner). Employers described in detail the specifics of the work of their organizations, determined the basic requirements for applicants, proposed disciplines that can form the necessary knowledge and competencies of future employees. They also noted that KazNU by name Al-Farabi is one of the main universities graduating demanded specialists in this industry. The meeting was useful as a direction in drawing up the competencies of the demanded graduate and determining the necessary disciplines for the main curriculum of the specialties "Geography", "Land Management" and "Cadastre".
