On May 23-27, 2022, the XV International Conference of GIS in Central Asia - GISCA 2022 will be held online. The GISCA conference has been held annually since 2005, and this year will be held in a regionally distributed format in several cities of Central Asia (Bishkek, Almaty, Tashkent and Dushanbe). GISCA 2022 is jointly organized as a multi-hub conference by the Austria - Central Asia Center for GIScience with support from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet.

The main objectives of the conference are to unite scientists, educators and GIS specialists from the countries of Central Asia and Europe, to support and encourage international cooperation, as well as to exchange experience and knowledge in the field of GIS education.

Within the GISCA 2022 conference, the experience and results of scientific research on the use of geoinformation technologies for regional research, conducted under the guidance of leading specialists of universities and scientific organizations of Central Asia, will be presented.

Accepted and peer-reviewed articles will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in the International Journal of Geoinformatics and other Scopus-indexed journals.

• GIS for regional Sustainable Development;
• Development of Geospatial Infrastructures and Ecosystems;
• GIS for management in the field of environmental protection, the prevention and elimination of emergency situations & public health;
• Agriculture, water resources management and other application domains;
• New trends and technologies in geodesy, cadastre, cartography and land management;
• Cultural and natural heritage;      

The working language of the conference is English.

The session in Almaty is scheduled for May 26, 2022, 14.00-16.00 (local time).
