On participation in issues of assessing water resources of the transboundary rivers Ertis and Ile

Kazakhstan is a country remote from the world ocean due to its inland location. The republic has the main large water bodies and the main large rivers that originate in the neighboring countries of Central Asia, but there are 2 main and important large rivers that originate in the People's Republic of China: the Ertis River and the Ile River. On issues of transboundary rivers, Kazakhstan has a water use agreement with Central Asian countries, but there is still no such agreement between Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China. Regions that are dependent on the use of water resources of the Ertis and Ile rivers are several regions of Kazakhstan: Pavlodar, East Kazakhstan, Abay, Karaganda, Almaty and Zhetysu regions. Issues of water allocation and use of water resources of transboundary rivers are very important and relevant work for the economy not only of these regions, but also for the entire country. For more than 20 years, there has been cooperation between the People's Republic of China and Kazakhstan in the framework of research into the use of the large transboundary rivers Ertis and Ile.

As part of the study and assessment of water resources of transboundary rivers between the PRC and Kazakhstan, national responsible experts on various research topics take part; among the experts on Estimating the amount of evaporation from the water surface on the territory of Kazakhstan, a 3rd year doctoral student of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology of the Kazakh National University named after Al. -Farabi Monkayeva G.E.
