Mineral processing, geology and raw mineral materials

Since last week, the faculty of the University of Lorraine of France has started classes in the discipline "Mineral processing, geology and raw mineral materials" for undergraduates studying in the framework of the educational program "Oil and Gas business". This course is divided among teachers into three main topics. There are professors: Lev Filipрov – "mineral development", David Jousselin – "structural and basic geology" and Hautevelle Yann and Jean Cauzid – "rock study".

These courses provide our undergraduates with knowledge in various fields. For example, for the processing of minerals, a definition is given that this is the process of primary processing of mineral raw materials in order to extract all minerals from free rocks and the mutual separation of valuable minerals, and that structural geology or morphological tectonics means the field of geotectonics, which studies the forms of formation of rocks in crust, mastering the techniques and methods of structural geology, geological schemes, geological bodies, processes and classification of rocks, description of sedimentary rocks, their diversity, the use of sedimentary petrography in technology, various scales of study of sedimentary petrology.

This gives students the opportunity to get a high-quality education and become qualified specialists.
