From February 25 to March 01, 2019, the opening ceremony of the international forum of students of oil and gas specialties "New generation: Across the Universe" was held at the Russian state University of oil and gas (NRU) named after I. M. Gubkin.

The purpose of the Forum is to gather the most outstanding students of various oil and gas specialties from the best universities of the world to give them a unique opportunity to share their ideas and experience and solve the problems of the world student society, as well as to determine the future trends of scientific and technical development of the oil and gas industry.

The forum was attended by students from 52 universities from 39 countries. This Forum from our University was attended by undergraduates of the 1st course of the specialty "oil and Gas business", Yeleussin Kadir and Dauletbayev Yersultan.

During the open forum participants were welcomed by the rector of Gubkin University Victor Martynov, Vice-President of JSC "Transneft" Mikhail Margelov, Vice President of marketing at Schlumberger Artem Karapetov, Vice-President of the World petroleum Council Joanna Desjardins, Deputy Chairman of the working Committee 2 "underground gas Storage" of PJSC "Gazprom" Nikita Barsuk, head of the Committee to attract young members of the international Society of petroleum engineers (SPE) Vlada Streletskaya and the main organizer of the forum Alina Nasrullayeva.

The plenary session on "New steps in improving the quality of education" and the plenary session of the 6th Forum of future leaders of The world oil Council were also held. Then the participants could trace the entire chain of oil and gas production on the example of simulators and laboratories of Gubkin University and offer their own solutions to global economic issues in the course of the OPEC case.

"Gubkin University closely cooperates with the international Society of petroleum engineers, which supports this forum. We believe that students from different countries, as future leaders of the industry, it is important to meet and just know each other to be successful in the future. Today there are about 320 universities in the world where oil and gas business is taught. In some universities more students study in this specialty, in some less. But the technology is the same everywhere, so the learning process should be similar, if not identical. By holding this forum, we are pursuing the goal of spreading knowledge, building new contacts and exchanging experience in education. Good
