In memory of the Chernobyl tragedy

Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU L.R. Sassykova held a curatorial hour devoted to the memory of the Chernobyl tragedy for bachelors of the 4th year of the English division (specialty "Chemical Technology of Organic Substances") on April 26, 2018. The Chernobyl accident (April 26, 1986) was the most terrible radiation accident in the history of mankind. Radioactive contamination was about 400 times larger than the atomic bombardment of Hiroshima. More than 30 employees and fires died as a result of severe radioactive contamination. More than 100 thousand inhabitants were evacuated. During the discussion, the causes of the accident were considered, as well as the consequences of a man-made impact on the climate of the planet, people health, flora and fauna.
