On February 2, 2023, within the framework of the project “100 books which should be read by each student of al-Farabi KazNU”, Akhmet Baitursynov Department of Kazakh Linguistics of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a curatorial hour devoted to Mukagali Makatayev’s anniversary who is considered one of the greatest poets of Kazakhstan. The topic of the event was: “Khan Tengri Spirit”. The main organizers were the students of 202 groups majoring in Kazakh philology.

The aim of the curatorial hour was to show M. Makataev's poetry importance for people of Kazakhstan, reveal the secret of its vital power and to demonstrate how Mukagali Makatayev’s poems and songs are in harmony with music .

The student, Nurlybaykhytkyzy Nazerke recited the poem: “My goal” and and the student, Nurbakyt Zerde read the poem: “ Ei Bauyrym”. Both poems were recited in a very eloquent and beautiful manner.

The participants were especially impressed by the student, Ilyas Merey’s reciting. He read an excerpt from the poet’s diary by heart and it sounded very fantastic

The students, Alisher and Togzhan performed the "dialogue of love" having rendered all emotional tones of the poem. The performance of the songs from the Mukagali ‘s mysterious melodies, sung by the the students of 202 group made the evening atmosphere more vivid and unforgettable. The thoughtful speech by curator Gulshat Uabidenovkyzy ended the event.
