"Shakespeare’s Ball"

Within the framework of the program "100 books" a teacher of English language, Dykhanova A.Sh., with the students of 113 and 105 groups of the Faculty of Law organized an event "Shakespeare’s Ball" dedicated to the life and works of the great poet. Students decorated the audience with balloons, a poster, and Shakespeare's famous quotations. Abdrakov Yermek, Erkin Sholpan and Zakanova Aidana took responsibility for decoration. All participants of the event spoke in English and Kazakh. Presenters of the event, Zhanashov Zhanibek and Zakanova Aidana talked about the importance of the great poet, recalled his great statements and briefly told about Shakespeare's works. Adil Asel and Temirbekova Aizhan presented Shakespeare’s biography. Kozhakova Nurai, Umbetov Bekzat, Kenzhibaev Nurzhan and Orazov Nurdaulet played two scenes in English demonstrating various episodes from the life of the poet, and Kulekesh Zhanserik translated their speech into Kazakh. Then Kozhakova Nurai held a quiz with the audience based on the works of Shakespeare and his biography. The culmination of the event was the scene from "Romeo and Juliet": a scene at the ball and on the balcony. At the beginning of the play Kakenova Aliya and Sarsenova Laura read poems from this tragedy. Baymenov Orazaly, Kozhakova Nurai, Bageev Bagdat and Sarsenova Laura performed a dance playing the heads of the families of Montague and Capulet at the ball. Kadyrov Berdimurat acted a part of Romeo, Kosaeva Albina - Juliet, and Құdaibergen Abzal and Musraliev Beksultan played friends of Romeo - Mercutio and Benvolio. After the scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Satan Toktar read Hamlet's famous speech. Also Bageev Bagdat, Omyrbek Asylkhan and Zhamantai Salamat read Shakespeare's sonnets. At the end of the event, the teacher Dykhanova A.Sh. talked about Shakespeare, the importance of English in understanding his works and noted the excellent performance of the participants.
