On March 31st 2009 the KazNU and Journalism Faculty will hold Young correspondents Forum. KazNU rector B.T. Zhumagulov along with representatives of various mass-media, international organizations and youth organizations of Kazakhstan will take part in this event.
During the Forum is planned to conclude the results of Republican Competition of schoolchildren’s essays. The rules of Competition were published in “Ulan” and “Druzhniye Rebyata” newspapers (on January 10th and 17th 2009 respectively).
Goal of the Forum is to widen contingent of future students of Journalism Faculty, another humanitarian faculties and to get schoolchildren closer to the Journalist profession.
Young correspondents will take part in the Wall newspapers Competition; will meet prominent journalists and representatives of local and international organizations, such as Journalists Union of Kazakhstan, UNESCO, UN, OSCE; will meet journalists of Xinhua, AFP and Russian information agencies and various mass-media outlets. Also they will meet teachers, graduate and undergraduate students of KazNU Journalism Faculty.
Every participant of the Forum will be able to ask any question about enrollment on Journalism Faculty.
Pupils of 10-11th classes of middle schools of Almaty and Almaty region along with anybody who is pursuing the goal to become student at KazNU Journalism Faculty are welcome to participate. Winners and participants of the recent Schoolchildren essays Competition will receive personal invitations.
Goals of the Forum:
•Raising popularity of Journalist profession among schoolchildren
•Raising quantity of enrolling students on KazNU humanitarian faculties
•Raising awareness of schoolchildren in the matter of choice their future profession
•Raising patriotic tensions, increasing importance of KazNU Journalism Faculty
