A meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held today in "Gylym Ordasy". It was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurinov, Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, heads of research institutes, members of the Presidium and academicians.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek expressed readiness to listen to any suggestions and recommendations of scientists. He also called on scientists to work together productively. "On June 1, 2022 at the anniversary session of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAS) President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the need to radically update the activities of the Academy of Science, make it a center of scientific thought and assign a state status to it. Our main goal is the development of science, and therefore it is necessary to systematize the work of research institutes. In this regard, universities and research institutes should work together," the minister stated.

"Today the state provides great support to science and its representatives. For example, next year the funding of the scientific projects will increase by four times. We should take advantage of this opportunity and work together in this direction. We must propose ways to solve the urgent problems of the scientific sphere. The country's leadership and people believe in us and are waiting for our concrete actions," the rector of the university claimed.

During the meeting academicians of the National Academy of Sciences and directors of the Research Institute made reports. Putting forward their ideas, scientists openly talked about the existing problems in the field of science and higher education.

At the end of the meeting, Sayasat Nurbek gave specific instructions to academicians of the NAS RK, heads of universities and research institutes.
