At a meeting with delegation of China, information was presented on the work of two important projects of KazNU – «New Silk Road» and «One Belt - One Road». Today, the University has been implementing the initiative of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev to create an IT-Technology Park based on the Silicon Valley model. The project is implemented jointly with the University Alliance of the New Silk Road, which unites more than 130 universities of the world.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the University pays great attention to the training of specialists and the implementation of projects in the field of «Space Engineering and Technology». The mission of the projects is to create a Small Spacecraft Scientific School. Thus, last year, the first Kazakhstani nanosatellite «Al-Farabi-1» was successfully launched from the Shriharikota Space Port in India. Also, young scientists of KazNU take part in the program of future space experiments for the flight of Kazakhstani cosmonauts.

In turn, Vice President of the Aerospace Information Research Center of China, Liu Jianbo, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and noted close cooperation between the two neighboring countries is the most acceptable and right decision. In this regard, they are ready to promote mutually beneficial integration and provide necessary programs and technologies. He also assured that the supercomputer allocated on a grant basis by the government of the PRC to the University of KazNU will significantly accelerate scientific activities of all the Universities of the New Silk Road Alliance. During the talks, Professor Liu Jianbo noted that within the framework of the partnership, students and teachers of KazNU will be able to undertake not only internships at their Institute, but also receive grants for training.
