The preparation for 1150 anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi

KazNU Rector Mutanov Galym met the representative of UNESCO in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and the director of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty with Christa Piccat.The meeting was devoted to the preparation of events dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr al-Farabi, which is scheduled for 2020.

"KazNU is working on the study of the heritage of Al-Farabi. The University opened the Museum of the great thinker, published his book, there is held an international Farabi reading. KazNU organized research centers of Al-Farabi in Istanbul and the Jordanian universities. The University is successfully implementing a unique project of Al-Farabi University smart city, based on the symbiosis of technological and moral platforms. A clear reference to this activity is the modernisation programme, announced by the President in his article A Look into the Future: Spiritual Revival", - said the rector of KazNU Mutanov Galym.

The Director of the UNESCO Cluster office in Almaty Christa Piccat, in turn, noted that for its part will do everything to ensure that events were held at a high level.

The parties discussed the concept, organizational aspects of the upcoming event and determined the guidelines for further work at the meeting.
