The Far East Department of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi conducted the second scientific on-line conference on the theme: "Japanese Studies in Kazakhstan and Japan", as part of the "Campus Campus" project with the University of Tsukuba (Japan). Moreover in February 2015, KazNU named after al-Farabi and the University of Tsukuba signed an agreement on cooperation. The main feature of this cooperation is the initiative "Campus on campus" (CIC). After the launch of this initiative, universities share their campus with their partners, thus enabling each other to use the appropriate research resources without national or institutional barriers.

The conference was organized by the Scientific and Educational Center for the Study of Japan and Central Asia of the Department of the Far East in cooperation with the University of Tsukuba.

During the conference, studies of Kazakh and foreign young scientists in the field of the Japanese language and translation were discussed. Presentations at the conference were made by the teachers of the department of Kadikova S.I. and Dairova A.S, as well as undergraduates and doctoral students of Tsukuba University. The subjects of the speeches were diverse (expressions of apology in the Japanese language, strategies for translating manga, use of auxiliary verbs and expressions of courtesy), and aroused great interest of the participants in the conference of the two sides.

As noted in his welcoming speech, Head of the Department of the Far East Yem N. B. and Professor of the University of Tsukuba Ono Masaki: "Holding such a conference within the walls of our university has become a good tradition. The conference is a convenient platform for discussion and exchange of scientific and practical experience in studies concerning Japanese studies. Undoubtedly, thanks to such arrangements, relations between universities will become stronger, and cooperation will be multifaceted.
