KazNU and University of Lahor signed cooperation agreement

Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Lahore (UOL) 

At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a meeting with the representatives of University of Lahore (UOL).First vice-rector Muhambetkali Burkitbayev noted the readiness of KazNU in the development of bilateral relations with Pakistani university and outlined prospects for joint work and the range of priorities.

During the meeting were discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of academic student exchange programs, training english-language master's and doctoral programs in such areas as computer engineering, social sciences, medicine, media and technical specialties.

A delegation of the Lahore University led by the vice-rector of the Department of International Relations, Professor Syed Amir Gilani and the Chairman, Awais Raoof, praised the achievements and the pace of the KazNU development, the level of implementation of the research projects, which will extend the university's status as the Global Hub for Sustainable Development of the UN program "Academic Impact" until 2018.

According to the results of the third extended-release QS ranking in the category "Emerging Europe and Central Asia" Kazakh National University took the 11th place in the ranking, rising ten places at once this year, having moved out of the top 20 into the top 10 in the region.

"Lahore University is confident that together we can create the necessary conditions for effective work in the implementation of joint research programs, because KazNU holds a key link in the development of Central Asia. Strong communication possible by the incremental work, therefore, in the beginning, we plan to participate in bilateral research programs of doctoral students of technical specialties, "- said professor Awais Rauf.

In the end of the event both sides exchanged memorable gifts that embody the cultural heritage of countries and planned course of joint activities.
