An educational event in the form of a master class on the topic "Time Management and Psychology of a Successful Personality" was held in the framework of the project " Brighten around " for 1st and 2nd year undergraduates of the Biological and Geographical Faculty of the Al-Farabi KazNU on April 30, 2018.

With the participation of the 2nd year students "Archeology and Ethnology" and members of the club "Ethnologist" within the framework of the "100 books" project, a discussion was held of I.Esenenlin's book "Nomads".

On April 30, 2018, within the framework of the "Aynalandy nurlandyr" project, the Republican round table on the theme "Psychological basis of the spiritual revival program “Ruhani zhangyru” was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science dedicated to the memory of Professor Jakupov S.M.

The research on the national project KAZ 5/004 "Developing Drought Tolerant and Disease Resistant Wheat Varieties with Enhanced Nutritional Content Using Mutation Breeding" has been launched at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University since 2018. "This new project is funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with counterpart  professor, Dr. Kenzhebaeva S. The total funding is 151 797 euros. In the framework of the project, the IAEA will provide the university  with the opportunity to study and increase the qualifications of the internationally recognized research centers, technical expertise, international expertise, expert advice, as well as up-to-date equipment to carry out the experiments.

The project "100 books that should be read to the student the Treasury" Sambetbaev A. with the students of the group IP 17-2 held an open curatorial hour on the topic of "Mahabbat Kyzyk mol Gilder".

Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University became one of the best in the Competition of the National Tourism Organization of Korea in Almaty.

April 21, 2018 at the university took place a traditional event dedicated to the holiday “Nauryz”. This year the faculty’s yurt and celebratory dastarkhan organized the department of chemistry and technology of organic substances, natural compounds and polymers.

In the KazNU. al-Farabi hosted the 7th International Student Conference "UN Model - New Silk Road" (NSWMUN).
Over 350 delegates from 20 countries took part in the conference, including Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as students from the USA, Italy, France, etc.

From 23.04 to 27.04, the team of Enactus KazNU took part in the annual national competitions of the Enactus Kazakhstan National Expo 2018 Cup in Astana. There are approximately 600 students at Journalism Faculty, who are studying 5 different specialties. On Baccalaureate: Journalism, Publishing, Public Relations; on Master program: Journalism, International Journalism, Public Relations, and Publishing; on PhD program: Political Communication and Journalism. 

Nauriz is a common holiday for all peoples of the East,  avery solemn day. Being celebrated by the eastern peoples as a beginning of the year, Nauriz is considered to be a special  day. Kazakh people also  appreciate Nauriz in a unique way and hold it as  trdition to celebrate it every year. On 23 April 2018 Diplomatic translation department of the Faculty of International Relations organized an undertaking “Nauryz Fest” devoted to the celebration of the holiday Nauryz. 

For the first time, the club organized a 2-day forum within the framework of the V International Farabiyev Readings, which made it possible to identify the problems and priorities of educational programs in journalism with the participation of the United Nations, the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Afghanistan in Kazakhstan, the British Council of the International Center for Journalism MediNet.

The Winter School of Journalism is organized annually. 100 participants from community, national and private radio stations, as well as Universities including members of Model UN New Silk Road from Central Asia are expected to participate in a series of master classes and training modules in Zailiyski Alatau mountain area near Almaty city.

The University actively do the tasks of "Digital Kazakhstan", maintaining its high position as a scientific and academic center. KazNU attracts young researchers to the scientific and educational environment to support the global energy and environmental initiatives of the President of Kazakhstan attracted by the program of "Green Bridge" from generation to generation.

On April 21, 2018, Nauryz was celebrated at the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi. Before the KazNU were put yurts.

The holiday of Nauryz was celebrated at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics was awarded for the III place in the contest "The Best Yurt".

As part of the Green Campus project, a cleaning day was held on April 21, 2018, entitled "What can we do for the cleanliness of our city?". The purpose of the cleaning day is to teach students love for their city. The students of the 1st course of KazNU, as well as the teachers of the biotechnology department  actively participated in the cleaning day.
