In the French city of Shepp was opened the monument of Attila, Hun empire’s ruller . Historians of our university attended this ceremony.

In June 2012, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) will host Global Summit on Sustainable Development "Rio +20". KazNU Al-Farabi, the only university of the CIS countries, will participate at a separate section devoted to the ideas of the President of the country - Global Strategies of energy-ecological development "Green Bridge". Section meeting, which arose a great interest from the world's leading universities, renowned scientists and international experts, will be held at the Rio Center on June 17 (19:30 pm, room "T5").

In June 1, 2012 was held online seminar with the participation of PhD’s and masters faculty of geography and natural management of our university with the Director of GIS Centre and Geoinformatics University of Salzburg, Professor Josef Strobl on the topics "GIS in geographic research.". He is also director of the GI Science Austrian Academy of Sciences During the workshop were presented valuable copyrights lectures of Professor and were also questions from the masters and PhD students. At the end of the seminar head of the department of geography, land management and cadastre Dr.Geo.Sc., Professor. Nyusupova G.N thanked the professor for an interesting workshop, and in the future such workshops will be continued in the online. During the seminar, PhD students Sarsenova I.B, Shokparova D.K, masters Kalimurzina A., M. Kudaibergenov and others have been participated actively, asked questions and received valuable advice on the application of GIS technology in scientific thesis. And also organizing committee thanked IT specialist of our university Asulan Kenzhebekov for an information technical support.
