On 12.12.23, teachers of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development, PhD Associate Professor B.E. Shimshikov and PhD Associate Professor G.A. Mukanova organized a working meeting with the Department of Ecology of the Mangystau region.During the conversation, Acting Head of the Department of Ecology M.K. Galimov expressed support and willingness to assist in the implementation of the megaproject.The problems of the current state of the soil cover and the reclamation of technogenically disturbed soils in places of oil fields and mining were also discussed. The issues of the development of soil erosion processes during desertification of the territory and degradation of pasture lands were considered.
