Department of World history, historiography and source studies of the Faculty of history, archeology and ethnology together with the Central state archive of film and sound documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Central state archive of scientific and technical documentation of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an event the theme: "The Tradition reborn: tradition and modernity» with the participation of students of 1st, 4th years and 2nd year undergraduates of specialty "Archival science, scientific discipline of documentation and documentation provision". The film "Life of Kazakhstan" (1927) was shown by the film Studio "Vostokkino", the students prepared presentations about the traditions of the Kazakh people, students performed Kazakh folk works as well.

The speaker wasasked questions. Club members expressed their views on the digitization of archival documents. At the conference, students and participating teachers discussed an article published in 21.11.2018 in the newspaper "Egemen Qazaqstan" under the name "Seven faces of the great steppe".

On November 23, 2018 the Zhas Archivist Club, in the framework of thearticle-program of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev, “7 Facets of theGreat Steppe” was held, round table was on the topic “Ata - Mura, Ruhani Zhangyru Kili”. At the round table, students shared their views on the spiritual values of the Kazakh people. Studentsshowed their views on the need and relevance of the project "ARCHIVE - 2025" among several major projects proposed by the President. Students highlighted the role of domestic archives inpreserving the state’s most valuable heritage. Some recommendations were made on the use andpromotion of archival documents.The round table was organized by Doctor of History, Professor O.Kh. Mukhatovа and Ph.D.,Associate Professor B.E. Nurpeysovа.

The meeting was devoted to the discussion of the topic “Large Hellenistic States. Types of Hellenistic States ", according to the plan of the club. Scientific reports on this topic were made by members of the club, 1st year students - Berik Batikhanov and Uzbehan Alua. The remaining members of the club participated in the discussion of the reports and expressed their opinions, made critical comments on the reports. At the end of the meeting, the head of the club, Candidate of Historical Sciences, associate professor Kartabayeva E.T. made general conclusions on the problem, and showed the strengths and weaknesses of the reports made. At the same time, students were given advice on the development of presentations on this topic.
