The Hanguk University of Foreign Languages (Republic of Korea) is the most stable partner of the Department of the Far East (Korean Studies) of KazNU named after Al-Farabi. In recent years, the tradition of the Winter School in KazNU has changed its format. Traditionally, students take a course in “regional studies, politics, economics and culture of Central Asia ”, which also includes field research in Kazakhstan. In 2019, students are aiming to work together on a project by the Institute of Central Asian Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Languages. The research is conducted under the direction of the Director of the Institute, Professor Son Young Hun and Professor Kim Sang Chol. Thanks to the initiative of these professors who worked in our university in the past, such projects are being implemented today.

On January 30, a meeting was held at the department of the Far East between students of the 1-2 course of KazNU and students of the 3rd course of Hanguk University of Foreign Languages. The leitmotif of the meeting is the interest of youths of Kazakhstan in the study of Korean language. Kazakh students with great interest participated in this research, as well as participating in student life at the University of Hanguk and in Korea. The guests spoke about their research work, the Korean study in Central Asia, then asked questions related to the reason of entering the Korean department and their plans for the future. After the student meeting, students from the Hanguk University of Foreign Languages interviewed teachers of the Korean language Pak T.N. and Sermuhametova B. The main questions of the interview were questions relating to educational literature and the problem of teaching Korean.
