Japan with the eyes of KazNU students

On January 26th 2018, the Center for Professional Development and Engagement and the Department of Recreation Geography and Tourism held a seminar with the participation of guests  from Japan Mr. Takeo Uchiyama, founder of the Sansea Tourism Company, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Japan Tourist Guides Association and a member of the Association of Japanese Women of Kazakhstan Ms. Kyyoko Takenchi. Mr. Uchiyama shared with students and members of faculty of KazNU experience of Japan in the development of tourism and training guides, and also answered the questions of the seminar participants. The students of "Tourism" presented their posters about the tourist attractions of the Land of the Rising Sun and received comments from Mr. Uchiyama and Ms. Takenchi. Mr. Uchiyama noted the high level of language proficiency of students of the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences, such professional skills as presentations skills and teamwork. "Meeting with students of KazNU was the brightest moment of my first visit to Kazakhstan," said Mr. Uchiyama.

During the visit, guests from Japan also visited Al-Farabi library with its Japanese corner and KazNU Museum.
