October 26, 2017 in Department of the Far East of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after al-Farabi, a special lecture was conducted on the topic "Difference between cases in Korean and Russian language" by Professor of Khanyang University Ham Ge-Im. A special lecture was held in the online class, which was opened in 2013 with the support of "Korea Foundation" and "Kukmin Bank".

 Since 2013, the Department of the Far East of KazNU n.a. Al-Farabi jointly with Hanyang University (Republic of Korea), with the financial support of the Korean Foundation, an online training project "Global e-School" is being implemented. Over the past three years, the courses as: Korean Economy (Han Hong Yul), Korean film and culture reading (Lee Hee Won), North Korean Politics (Yim Yong Soon), Understanding K-Entertainment (Seung Kwan No), North Korean Society and Culture (JEON, Young Sun) have been read.

 In the academic year 2017-2018, the department won the courses "Korean Language in Tourism" (JEON, Young Sun) and "Cultural Diplomacy" (Boram Shin).

 It is noteworthy that not only the Department of the Far East’s students, but also students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, the Faculty of International Relations, as well as employers of specialists graduated from the Department.
