The Department of the Far East has introduced a new discipline in medical terminology in the curricula. It was not by chance, since the autumn of 2017 qualifications of students corresponded to become equal partners for the South Korean doctors in the Diagnostic center of the KazNU.

From October 18 to 27, 2017, a free medical consultation was hold in the diagnostic center of KazNU named after al-Farabi. Doctors from the hospitals of "Gangnam Severance" and "Sinchon Severance" of the University of Yonsei consulted on cardiovascular diseases and general medicine.

Thanks to the strategic partnership between KazNU and Yonsei University (South Korea), students and teachers of the universities of Kazakhstan, residents of city Almaty, Almaty and East Kazakhstan regions were given the opportunity to undergo a free survey from leading South Korean medical specialists.

Students and undergraduates of the Branch of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East as volunteers and translators also took part in this event.

From year to year, the cooperation between KazNU and Yonsei University is growing stronger, and we hope that such close cooperation will expand its borders.
