Online seminar between Istanbul University and KazNU
On December 7, 2020, under the organization of Dr. Mehmet Olmez, professor and head of the Department of Modern Turkic Languages and Literature of the Faculty of Literature of Istanbul University, there was held an online seminar "Dictionary of the Kazakh language from ancient Turkic times to the present day" . Along with the universities of Turkey and Kazakhstan, teachers of the Turksoy Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Faculty of Philology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the seminar.
In addition to explanatory and etymological dictionaries of the Kazakh language, there was a presentation of the book "Kazakçanın Tarihi Türk lehçelerini göre söz varlığı" by prof. Emin Oba.
In the final part of the seminar, domestic and foreign Turkologists expressed their views on this topic and expressed their wishes for future cooperation between universities of two counties.
