"Global climate change" (using the example of Almaty)

On 02.27.2024, students of the 3rd year of the specialty "Foreign philology" of the TURKSOY department within the framework of the project "Sustainable Development Goals" held an event on the topic "Global climate change" (using the example of Almaty). The purpose of the event is to implement the latest decisions of the World Climate Committee at the United Nations and exchange operational information on the latest natural disasters. It is worth noting that recently such natural disasters have become very dangerous for Kazakhstan. In particular, due to the fact that the city of Almaty is not only located in an earthquake-prone zone, but is also at risk of mudslides and mudslides. There are discussions among students about preventing these accidents.

3rd year student Kokteubai Nazerke spoke about the ongoing events of the World Climate Committee at the United Nations and provided information about the projects being implemented. Askar Akbota provided information on the seismic risks of the city of Almaty. In her opinion, the city of Almaty is currently on the verge of a major disaster, that is, earthquakes, in which aftershocks have already been repeated several times. In order to avoid this, the state was convinced of the scale of the measures taken and their necessity for residents of Almaty. And Azatuly Abylai noted that the city of Almaty is not only on the verge of seismic danger, but also very dangerous, both mudslides and mudslides.

In general, the students, who are not indifferent to the world's natural disasters, noted how important it is to switch to more training from now on.

The event was very useful from the point of view of the modern survival of the country's population.
